Land Use Guidelines

Introduction

This publication provides guidelines to land owners, developers, local and State government authorities and any other interest holders in the appropriate use of land within the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) corridor.

Approval for use of the corridor for activities and works

Before undertaking any works within the DBNGP corridor, contact Dial Before You Dig (external link)  -  Dial 1100

Prior to commencement of intended works within the DBNGP corridor, all parties must submit a written application for approval from the DBNGP Land Access Manager through the Department.  This is a requirement under Section 41 of the Dampier to Bunbury Pipeline Act 1997.

All applicants are advised to submit an application at the earliest possible stage to allow sufficient time for assessment from a technical, social, environmental and safety-hazard perspective.  Approval will only be granted to the party responsible for the works.  The approval process should take approximately 2 weeks.

Unauthorised use of the corridor

Penalties are provided under Section 41 of the Dampier to Bunbury Pipeline Act 1997 for unauthorised use of the corridor.
